The Lifespan/Tufts/Brown Center for AIDS Research is a joint research effort between Tufts and Brown universities and their affiliated hospitals and centers. The CFAR is part of a national program begun by the National Institutes of Health in 1988. There are currently 20 Centers for AIDS Research located at academic medical centers throughout the country.
Centers for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine, a collaboration of The Miriam Hospital and Brown Medical School, researched programs for smoking cessation, weight and diabetes control, the benefits of exercise and more.
The Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center promotes research in the field of obesity prevention and treatment.
