The Centers' faculty is committed to both basic research on discovering the mechanisms underlying behavioral factors in health and illness, as well as to applied research on the translation of these discoveries for clinical and community health improvement. The Centers' faculty have a range of training backgrounds from psychology and behavioral science to exercise science, biostatistics and medical anthropology. Their research addresses the leading lifestyle causes of disease burden and death - tobacco, diet, and physical activity, as well as many other behaviors relevant to improving health outcomes and health care delivery.
