Jessica Unick, PhD, is an assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and an exercise physiologist at the Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center at The Miriam Hospital. She earned her PhD in exercise physiology from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a 2-year NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular behavioral medicine at Brown.
One of Unick’s primary research interests is in the development of non-surgical approaches for the treatment of severe obesity, with a particular focus on improving behavioral weight loss interventions for this portion of the population. In addition, she is broadly interested in examining the role of exercise in weight control, with a specific emphasis on examining how exercise may influence eating behaviors.
