Diagnostic Imaging

The Miriam Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Center offers outpatient radiology services and is conveniently located in the Shaw’s Plaza off of North Main Street in Providence. 

The center offers patients access to:

• Ample, free parking
• Experienced radiologists
• Multi-slice computed tomography (Cat Scan)
• Ultrasound
• General X-ray
• Mammography—The Miriam Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Center was recognized by Quality Partners of Rhode Island for scheduling mammograms within 5 days, a significantly shorter than average wait time
• Bone densitometry for osteopenia and osteoporosis screenings and diagnosis
• Same day or next day appointments for cat scan, ultrasound, or bone density
• Walk-in for general X-ray

The center offers authorized physicians access to:

• Radiology reports and images on LifeLinks (excluding mammography and bone densitometry)
• An on-site radiologist consultant who is available by phone at 401-793-4678 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Same day results.  Results are faxed to physicians who have completed an authorization form for such transactions.

Schedulers are available to book appointments Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Patients are seen Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of CT patients; CT scans are conducted between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
