Who is Enrolled in the GENESIS Program?

The GENESIS Program
(Geriatric-friendly Environment through Nursing Evaluation and Specific Interventions for Successful healing)

A patient is enrolled in the GENESIS program if he or she presents any of the following:

• Problems getting to sleep
• Does not feel rested after sleep
• Routinely takes a sleeping pill at home
• Dehydration
• Poor appetite or recent weight loss
• Requires assistance with daily activities such as dressing or transferring from bed to chair
• At risk for falls
• At risk for pressure sores
• Sensory impairment (visual or hearing loss)
• Uncontrolled or severe pain
