Medical Staff

The Miriam Hospital is a private, not-for-profit hospital. Through its history of providing superior patient care, The Miriam Hospital has received numerous clinical quality awards, earning an outstanding reputation in the community. The hospital is staffed by more than 775 affiliated physicians, approximately 50 full-time house staff (medical school graduates), a nursing staff of 500 and more than 1,100 health care employees.

The Medical Staff Services office is a shared service that performs joint medical staff and credentialing functions for Lifespan affiliates, including The Miriam Hospital.

Included in the credentialing functions are the processing of initial applications, re-applications, requests for staff status changes and additional requests for privileges.
