The Miriam Hospital will host its 21st annual Women’s Wellness Workshop – a daylong event designed to empower women with the information they need to stay healthy – on Saturday, September 8.
The day begins with a keynote presentation led by Leslie Goldman, MPH, an award-winning women’s health writer and author of Locker Room Diaries: The Naked Truth About Women, Body Image, and Re-Imagining the “Perfect” Body. Goldman will share tips to help women celebrate their shape, improve their body image and love themselves inside and out.
At lunchtime, personal stylist Jill Marinelli will help attendees develop confidence and personal style by teaching them to dress to flatter their shape, using clothing as sculpture. Nationally recognized experts will also lead morning and afternoon workshops on a variety of topics, including “Putting Your Health at the Top of Your To-Do List,” “Cool Tactics for Hot Flashes,” “The Truth about Statins,” and “Healthy Eating on a Budget.” Health screenings will be available throughout the day.
When: Saturday, September 8, 2012 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Crowne Plaza Hotel, 801 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI
The registration fee is $30 per person ($35 after August 29), which includes lunch and a light breakfast. All attendees will receive a gift and have the chance to win raffle prizes.
