Champions from The Miriam Hospital’s Greenways, an employee-based sustainability effort, recently partnered with the Groundwork Providence (GWP) Summer Youth Green Team on a symbolic art installation that serves as a reminder that recycling is everyone’s choice. The project illustrates The Miriam’s recycling efforts (including cardboard, paper, plastic bottles and hospital blue wrap) during the month of July against a backdrop of the hospital’s total waste in that same time period.
The installation was led by GWP youth supervisor Joshua Lantzy and is part of a larger, month-long art exhibit that will be unveiled at the Roger Williams National Memorial in Providence on September 14 from 5-7 p.m.
The Miriam Hospital has sponsored the GWP Green Team for seven years through its Community Investment Grant program.
