The Miriam Gala & Auction: Roaring into the 20s

The Miriam Gala & Auction Learn more

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic continues to change life for us all and has brought unprecedented challenges to The Miriam, our community, and those we serve. While we could not be more proud of our hospital’s response to this crisis, it remains difficult to predict what the coming weeks and months will look from a public health perspective. What we do know, however, is that nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our community.

With this in mind, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone The Miriam Hospital Gala & Auction – Roaring into the 20s, to Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence. As we look forward to bringing our community together again to celebrate The Miriam, we are pleased to announce that Nancy and Howard Safran, MD have graciously agreed to remain our event chairs as we seek to raise funds for the expansion and renovation of a center for Phase I cancer clinical research trials.

Although this year’s event will not go on as planned, we’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Safrans and their entire committee for their tireless efforts on behalf of our beloved hospital. We also send our thanks to all our sponsors and supporters for your unwavering commitment and generosity – we hope you will continue to partner with us for our 2021 Gala.

It is also important to share that – during this difficult time – The Miriam needs you more than ever. We’d like to ask that you consider re-designating your 2020 Gala ticket purchase or sponsorship gift to a charitable donation in support of The Miriam’s greatest needs. Of course, additional donations during this critical time are also welcome. And, as always, your gift will be 100% tax deductible.

As a valued friend and supporter, we understand you may have questions. Someone from our team will be in touch with you in the coming days; but, in the meantime, please feel free to contact Cheryl Cusson at ccusson@lifespan.org or (401) 793-2805 if you have any immediate needs.

Thank you for your consideration and continued support as we navigate these challenging times together!
